This week at Journey into Prayer we looked at Mark 11:15-17 which relates how Jesus threw the money lenders and animal sellers out of the Temple courtyard. He quoted from the book of Isaiah saying, ”’My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations’. But you have made it a den of thieves.”

That Temple was where God had chosen to make his presence known to the Jewish people, but it is long gone.

So here are 3 questions for us today:

1. Where is God’s temple now? (See 2 Corinthians 6:16 if you’re not sure!)

2. Is there anything cluttering this new ’temple’ that Jesus would want to clear away? Something that’s making it too noisy or too busy to be a place of prayer?

3. It’s meant to be a ‘house of prayer for ALL NATIONS’. We live in a very broken, hurting world, but God still loves this world and wants us too to feel His heart for it. When our hearts (our inner temple) are open to Him he can give us a burden to pray for a particular nation(s). Listen for that ‘still small voice’. What and where is God calling you to pray for this week?
