Sadly, at this time, all of our groups are cancelled. We have online groups set up and are rethinking how we do church. Please get in contact if you want to know more.
We usually have lots of groups for children and young people in our communities, ranging from our Acorns toddler group through to youth groups. Our group leaders are passionate about giving children and young people a space where they can have fun, explore life together, and discover more about Jesus on the way.

October Half Term Packs
All our groups for children and young people are run by volunteers from our church family. Each one offers something unique.
Here is a quick breakdown of our groups:
Acorns is our toddler group. These mornings are filled with crafts, playing, snack time and singing. This is a great space to meet new people and build lasting friendships. We have 2 Acorns groups, one in Eckington and another in Dronfield:
The Lighthouse, Eckington – Mondays during term time, 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Oaks Community Church, Dronfield – Fridays during term time, 10 am – 11:30 am
Fireflies – Reception to Year 2 (age 4 – 7)
At Fireflies we have a great time playing games, getting creative and learning about how much God loves all of us. It is always lots of fun together. We meet every Monday during term time, 4 pm – 5 pm, in Dronfield.
Kids Connect – Year 3 and 4 (age 7 -9)
Kids Connect is our newest after school group in Eckington. It is a great opportunity to meet children from other schools in the local area and get hands-on with craft activities. There are lots of different areas to play in, from Polly Pockets, football, or Lego, to name a few.
Kids Connect is every Friday during term time at The Lighthouse in Eckington.
It is an open start from 3:30 pm to allow children from the local area to come long. Pick up is at 5 pm.
Warm & Dry – Year 5 – 8 (age 9 – 13)
As the name suggests, Warm & Dry is a space for young people to enjoy time together somewhere warm and dry. This group has a very open and relaxed structure that gives friends a great opportunity to catch up on their week.
As well as having large group games and a tuck shop, leaders encourage the young people to think about their wellbeing through interactive discussions.
Warm & Dry meets every Friday during term time, 6 pm to 7:30 pm at The Lighthouse in Eckington.
Kaboom – Year 7 -9 (age 11 – 14)
Our young people have a lot of fun at Kaboom. There are activities, snacks, and the occasional video making! Our leaders enjoy getting involved with the games, particularly table tennis. We cover a variety of topics, from the environment to finding out about the Bible.
Kaboom meets on alternate Mondays at Oaks Community Church in Dronfield, 7 pm – 8:30 pm. Check out our calendar below for the dates.
GLAZE – young women, year 9 – 13 (age 14 – 18)
This is our girls-only youth group. GLAZE is a space for young women to share their lives with one another. Our leaders encourage young women to think for themselves and be aware of how the world around can impact self-image and self-worth. We also bake, play games and make crafts.
This group meets alternate Mondays at Oaks Community Church in Dronfield between 7 pm and 8:30 pm. See our calendar below on for the dates.
Fans – Year 9 – 13 (age 14 – 18)
Fans is a group for young people who want to explore Christianity in more depth. There is time to catch up with one another and talk about what is going on in each other’s lives.
Fans meet at Sami & Robin’s house on alternate Thursdays between 7:15 pm and 8:30 pm.
Check out the calendar below for the dates and please contact us for more details if you would like to attend.
Coming up over the next 6 weeks:
Why do we run children and youth groups?
As a church we want to see the next generation experience freedom, be focused and believe that they are the future.
Freedom – We want to see the next generation free from labels and the pressures they face by knowing their God-given identity.
Focus – As the next generation experience freedom, we believe in encouraging them to hold onto this by finding out more about Jesus and his life.
Future – The next generation of young people are our future so we believe that they are worth investing in.
