On Sunday we took the chance to each review our relationship with God in prayer and how this has progressed over the last few years.

Read

2 Corinthians 3:18

‘…we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.’

We thought about some of the people of prayer in the Bible: Mary, Jesus’s mother, pondering things in her heart; David, coming to God in repentance; Paul, inviting us to pray without ceasing.

A Little Refection

Taking a step back for a moment, where have I come to in my prayer life in 2025 and as I step into 2026?

  • Do I give more time to being with God?
  • How have I begun to pray in new ways? E.g. listening to God
  • In what ways does fasting played a part in my praying?
  • How have I benefited from solitude?
  • Are there any other ways in which my praying has changed? E.g. praying more in tongues
  • Has got to be nudging or leading me to pray into an issue? E.g. politics, family members, another country.

Looking forward

What pathway would I like God to take me down in 2026? Perhaps experimenting with fasting; going away for a first ever retreat (just a day to start, perhaps); starting a new daily rhythm in prayer, etc.
